I’m Samantha Murray, Founder and Director of Food Solutions Diet Consultants, one of Australia’s only specialised aged care nutrition and speech pathology consultancy groups.

I’m a qualified dietitian from Queensland University of Technology and started my career working at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane where I was awarded Mater New Graduate of the Year. It was here that I got my first glimpse into my passion when I worked with older clients in the rehabilitation unit, which I loved. It was also when I got a taste for private practice, consulting on the weekends in a GP practice.

Determined to have diverse career experiences, I went to work in a health retreat, which was amazing and I got the opportunity to work with some incredible people with even more incredible backgrounds. But I kept feeling like I wasn’t making a big difference in the lives of others.

It wasn’t until I moved into the food industry and consulted to aged care that I knew I found my true calling. After seeing a huge gap for consistent, reliable, expert dietitians and speech pathologists, I moved from working alone in my own practice to building an industry leading team and brand under Food Solutions Diet Consultants. The rest, as they say, is history.

I have made it my mission in life to address the aged care malnutrition epidemic and help Australians over 65 achieve good health and well-being. As a result of my work in this area, I have also had the opportunity to serve on the board of the Dietitians Association Queensland for several years and have regularly contributed articles on the topics of health and nutrition in leading aged care magazines.
